This Picture Says It All …

I guess one picture can really say it all.
Here is a picture of Charles and I two years ago.
It is a picture of real suffering.

Charles was in severe chronic pain–you can see it in his face–
even with the smile. He almost never got out of his chair.
He hurt too much to even lie down most nights. He was 68.

(He had spinal stenosis, arthritis, degenerative disc disease,
diabetes, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure,
sinus problems, early signs of alzheimers…and the list went on.)

But look at us now!

We just celebrated Charles 70th birthday! I never thought he’d make it.
I don’t think he would have … until my prayers were answered
