Bill is now pain free!
Bill’s doctors and many of his friends were so impressed in changes in Bill since he began drinking the juice — that they are now drinking the Nopal Cactus Juice and feeling better, too!
Here is Bill’s story in his own words:
From the Abyss of Pain and Desperation to the 7th Heaven of Relief
Ahhh — A Pain Free Life!
“All the things I learned after I thought I knew it all.”
How was I to know that after having suffered for years the horrible pains of rheumatoid arthritis they would be greatly relieved by a simple, very simple, fruit juice from the cactus prickly pear fruit?
So, here I am, after having spent 40 years as a designer of rockets that went to the Moon and Mars and a professor of rocket science, I learned that a simple thing with which I had grown up as a child in a farm in Southern Greece, would be the vehicle that would help me with the severe pains of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and carry me from the “abyss” of pain and desperation to the “seventh heaven” of relief to a painless life.
As a child in Greece, my favorite breakfast during the months of August and September was the prickly pear fruit of the cactus plant which grew abundantly on my parents’ farm. I had become an expert in getting them down, cleaning and peeling them without getting any of the tiny thorns or spikes on me. The usual dosage was about eight or ten each morning.
The cactus plant is a native of Mexico where the Spaniards found it and were controlling its export. In fact at some point it had become as important an export as gold. The French stole it and carried it over into Haiti and from there they took it to the Mediterranean area where it thrives to this day and where its fruit appropriately are called “French Figs” (Frankosyca).
The symptoms of what later, much later was diagnosed as RA, first appeared in the late 1980′s as I started working with the newly introduced Apple desktop computers. They manifested themselves as swelling of the fingers and wrists accompanied by very severe pain. They first diagnosed it as carpal tunnel syndrome and they put me through all kinds of special treatments, such as hot and icy baths, hot steamed towels, massages, etc. In addition, I was treated with all kinds of medications the likes of Butazolidin, Feldene, Motrin, generic ibuprofen and in heavy dosages. Yes, I did see relief and improvement, but anytime I overused my hands the swelling and the unbearable pain would invariably re-occur.
One specialist sports surgeon was always ready to operate on my wrists but I resisted because something was telling me that it was not the answer and I would not see much relief. Perhaps it was my rocket scientist’s “common sense” that was at work. I needed to be assured that indeed this was the correct diagnosis and the right thing to do and not simply an experiment with surgery. As I went through X-rays and MRIs of both hands and from the work comp doctor to my own family general practitioner to a rheumatologist who opined, that there’s no RA, to two types of specialized orthopedic surgeons and then to another rheumatologist for a second opinion who positively diagnosed it as RA who prescribed another medication, methotrexate, which is used in chemotherapy but was found to also help persons with RA. Along with this new medicine I was also put on higher dosages of anti-inflamatories Motrin and/or generic ibuprofen.
After about a year of this and without any warning I noticed the effects or internal bleeding. I was hospitalized and transfused five times and as they found a small wart-like benign tumor in my stomach which they did not remove it because it showed signs of receding. Six months later, the bleeding reoccurred and this time they removed the small tumor. Again five more transfusions and I went home feeling fine. One of the things that I noticed was that both times as I was given the new blood and was discharged all my pains had disappeared. I would then jokingly say, “they gave me the blood of an 18-year old”! In both cases, however, the pains returned with the passage of time. I was off the ibuprofen anti-inflamatories and I would depend on the use of ice packs to treat the swelling, which helped, but the pains were always there. I could not even squeeze a lemon or peel a potato without having my fingers swell and the unbearable pain return.
Then the “miracle happened”! For the first time a good friend, who had also been a former student of mine some 30 years prior, came to see me — on a day that I had severe pains! As we were reminiscing our common past we talked about our ailments he asked me and I told him what I had. Then he said “I had that too and I have been drinking a natural fruit juice and I do not have pain anymore”!
Needless to that I immediately asked for the name of the juice and where I could get it. He promised to send me some and it came a few weeks later. When I saw that it was from the Nopal cactus … I burst out laughing because of my previous experience of having the cactus prickly pear fruit for breakfast when I was a child in my parents’ farm. So, as the saying goes “what goes around comes around”, there I was so many years later back into the cactus pear usage…
I started drinking it, 3 0z twice a day, and within a week I noticed that my fingers were not as numb anymore. Within a month I noticed a significant reduction of my pains and a better overall feeling was settling in. I shared the experience with my family doctor who was impressed and asked that information be sent to her which is currently happening. As I went to my rheumatologist specialist for my regular bimonthly blood exam I did not tell her anything because I wanted to know if she would detect anything special in my blood. By then I had only been drinking the juice for a month. Two months later as the new exam came I asked her if the blood was showing anything special. She said, “well, the RA bug is still there but it seems to be asleep” to which I retorted, “oh, I gave it a sleeping pill…” and then I showed her the information. Her comment was: “You cured yourself!” I then said “as one doctor talking to another, myself in Rocket Science and you in Medicine, I believe you should make this known and available to all your RA patients…”
Now I have no pains and I treasure and rejoice every moment. Where I would periodically get some crippling pains in my hips and ankles that kept bed-ridden for two days at a time until the icing would help, now there’s no such a thing! I can squeeze lemons, peel and cut potatoes, open cans and jars with my hands and sleep through the night in any position I choose. I can also again walk at a fast rate of 120 to 125 steps per minute.
Here I wish to express a personal opinion, if I may, about this whole situation. As I read the literature that says how it cleanses the toxins from our cells … I theorized that the new blood that they had given me in both hospitalizations six months apart, did not have any toxins and perhaps that was the reason that caused my pains to go away immediately following the transfusions. However, with the passage of time the toxins came back and with them the pains came back as well. So, it must be true then that the betalains in cactus juice really does wash all the toxins away!
OH, WHAT A RELIEF IT IS!
