I’ve lived in Asheville, North Carolina for the last 12 years, and over the last few years, when I came home to Florida to visit my parents, Charles and Kare Possick, I had been noticing that my dad’s health was rapidly deteriorating. He had tried just about everything and nothing seemed to work. At that point, my mom’s full-time job was taking care of him. They even had wheelchair-sized sidewalks put in all around the house because he assumed he would be in one soon enough.
Now, a year later, the change in him since he started drinking the Nopal Cactus Juice has been simply amazing. My parents’ big Labradoodle dog, Bentley, likes to sprawl in the middle of the doorway and my dad can step around and over him without any problem – which would have been simply impossible last year. Because he is mobile again and feeling so much better from drinking the juice, he has been able to exercise. At 69-year-olds, he has lost a significant amount of weight. For the first time in my 29 years, when I hug him, my hands actually touch!
I earned my bachelor’s degree in education from Warren Wilson College, a private, liberal arts college in beautiful Swannanoa, North Carolina, and my master’s degree, also in education, from Western Carolina University. For the past eight years, I taught elementary education at a local public school. But recently, I decided to switch career paths. I am now starting up our new Nopal Cactus Juice satellite office in Asheville. I am very excited about helping people learn more about the juice and how it can improve their health.
In my spare time, I am passionate about women’s flat track roller derby. It is a fantastic sport that is growing in popularity around the country. For two-and-a-half years I was a skater with the Blue Ridge Roller Girls and now, for the last year and a half I have been refereeing. I am currently the head referee for Blue Ridge, as well as co-head of PR and Marketing, and the Vice President of the Board of Directors.
Our team has a very loyal fan base that is always growing. This season, we have been averaging about 2,000 people at our games, which are called bouts, at the Asheville Civic Center. It is a full contact sport where everyone, including referees, wears protective gear. I love the fast pace, the competition, and especially the camaraderie between roller derby folks in our own league, as well as with others all over the world.
Drinking the juice has helped my asthma and allergies by reducing inflammation in my lungs. This means I have more stamina and can skate faster and harder. The juice has also shortened the recovery time from any sports-related injuries. This is great news, not just for my fellow Roller Derby girls, but also for any athlete who loves the competition as much as I do. Why not drink an all-natural healing juice and get back in the game faster?
